So what should you look for when hiring a live band for a London based event ?

• Who is coming?

• What is your venue like?

Do you have enough space for the 10 piece Latin band and associated dancing that you would like? Is your venue made of glass walls in a residential street with a temperamental decibel meter? These are all things that need to be thought about when you are booking live music.

• What time and for how long do you want the band to play?

Most live bands will play in 45 minute set blocks up to 2 or 3 sets depending on their repertoire list. What time you want them to play will vary depending on the band. But if you are booking a party band and you want people to dance then as late as possible in your event is normally best.
