There is no doubt that to have Christmas events of any size this year we’re all going to have to go virtual. At Yes Entertainment we’re working hard to come up with some virtual Christmas party ideas that your colleagues and friends will love. 

Virtual Christmas Party Ideas for Small Groups

If your team or company is quite small (10 to 20 staff) you will have lots of options. As a smaller team you will fit perfectly into Zoom.  On a laptop or PC you’ll all fit onto one gallery screen (you can view up to 49 people on one screen). On an iPad you can all be seen with just 3 swipes of  (9 to a gallery view on ipad). 

Because of the size of the group you will be able to interact together nicely. This will work very well for virtual magic shows and online murder mysteries. Whilst both of these can work well for larger teams too an intimate group is perhaps even better.

But if you want to have a few more options, then you can buy a “table” at a larger virtual Christmas event. These events work much like a physical Christmas event. You will enter a 3D virtual Christmas party room. From there you will access your own private, password protected Zoom room from your virtual table. Entertainment will come into your room at different times. Later in the evening you can join other people to watch live music, DJs and other acts, or just hang out at the virtual bar. 

Virtual Christmas Party Ideas for Large Groups

Larger groups are harder to handle in the virtual environment. Virtual actually events work best for larger groups when you break them up into… err… smaller groups!

So the kinds of things that work very well for a bigger online company Christmas party are murder mysteries (where groups can be split into breakout rooms to interview different suspects separately), or online Quiz events which again naturally lend themselves to splitting the company up into smaller teams. 

If you want to really make the event special for a larger group though you can create an entire virtual event space. This can be built from scratch to your specifications. It can have multiple rooms and multiple acts. The space can be branded to reflect your company or theme. Approaching virtual events in this way really brings them to life. It allows your guests to move around and decide what they want to do next.
