So this morning the weatherman kindly welcomed us to the first day of meteorological summer time! Yes it is 1st of June and the sun is more or less shining in between patches of cloud. Actually its a bit chilly in the wind.
But never mind summer is here, its official.
Why then are a few crazy people like us starting to think about Christmas?
Well quite simple really. We were running an event on Saturday and one of our best DJs said the fateful words “sorry mate, I’ve had to take a gig on Friday 11th December, they were offering just too much money for me to turn it down!”
A cold chill runs down our spine. One less DJ for the busiest Friday night in the whole of Christendom. So the race has begun.
Therefore if you want to ensure you have the best disco booked for your Christmas party this year. Here are our top three reasons why we think you should book your Christmas DJ now….
1. The best Christmas party DJs are booked first.
Clearly this may seem like we are stating the obvious but those of us who have had a bad experience with our Christmas DJs in the past and want to ensure we get the right team for the night will book now. So you need to do the same, the later you leave it (particularly if you are booking direct rather than through an agent) the more chance you have of ending up with someone who is seriously below par.
2. Booking your Christmas DJ earlier is cheaper.
Like flights and hotels the days of last minute deals for Christmas Party DJs are pretty much over and there are some DJs who will hold out on booking until the very last minute because they know they can charge at least twice as much! So if you want your Christmas disco to be affordable get your date reserved.
3. Friday nights in December are the busiest for Christmas disco bookings.
Anyone who works in meetings and events, or food and beverage knows that the three Fridays leading up to Christmas are the busiest nights of the year for Christmas parties and therefore DJs. So you know how many parties you had last year on those nights and probably the year before that and the year before that. If you see a pattern why not just book DJs now to fill those dates? You may have to pay a deposit but if you work with the same agency regularly they probably won’t even charge you that. Given that these are the busiest nights it is highly unlikely that you won’t have an event booked so you aren’t really taking any risk by making an early commitment.
