Weddings are very expensive and often the wedding entertainment is the last thing to get booked so there can sometimes be a smaller amount of money left in the pot. Here are a few Wedding entertainment ideas to keep the costs down without compromising on the quality.
1. Book a wedding DJ rather than a live band
Having a live wedding band is great and pretty much guaranteed to get everyone up on the dancefloor, but when you are paying for a group of people’s time it can get expensive (at least £250 to £300 per musician). A good wedding DJ can still ensure that everyone has a great night and that the dancefloor is full throughout at a fraction of the cost. A good wedding DJ will have an absolutely encyclopaedic knowledge of music and tens of thousands of tracks at their disposal to ensure that they can read the room on the night and ensure that everyone is having an awesome time. A professional wedding DJ will cost you between £350 and £550 depending on the size of your party and any special requirements you have.
2. Book a three or four piece band or even a duo
If you are really set on some live music for your wedding day (and we totally get that) but you still need to keep the costs down why not look for a smaller band. A good three or four piece wedding band will do a great job and normally be a little bit cheaper than a five or six piece. Even a good duo can provide that live element you are looking for for your evening and keep things rocking using good quality backing tracks, or just a guitar and cahon box can be enough to get everyone moving.
3. Look for a live band who can provide a different line up or a DJ as well
Quite a few of the bands we work with are offering this service now. For a little bit extra they will provide an acoustic duo earlier in the day for a drinks reception, then the full band in the evening. Most bands will play background music in between sets but many will have a DJ in their line up too and will be happy to keep the music pumping at less than the cost of hiring a DJ direct.
4. Call on your talented friends
Everyone knows someone in a band and if you’re friend is coming to the wedding anyway they will almost certainly waive their fee and then you just have to pay the rest of the musicians to keep the cost down. Over the years we’ve done friends weddings as a wedding present and paid the rest of the band ourselves. There’s no nicer gift than giving everyone a great night.
5. Ask your entertainment agency if they offer any wedding entertainment packages
Many agencies will offer packages of different products bundled together. So before you go and source your photobooth, DJ or band yourself as individual items talk to them and see whether they have anything that works for your budget.
At Yes Entertainment we have a few different Wedding entertainment packages to choose from so check them out and drop us a line if you have any questions or you don’t see anything that works for you.
We want to help. We want you to have an incredible day and we’ll do all we can to achieve that for you within your budget.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_cta_button 0=”href=”<a” 1=”href=”https://www.yesentertainment.co.uk/acts/category/wedding-entertainment-packages/”>https://www.yesentertainment.co.uk/wedding-entertainment-packages/”” call_text=”Wedding entertainment packages for all budgets” title=”View Latest Packages” target=”_self” color=”btn-danger” icon=”wpb_binocular” size=”btn-large” position=”cta_align_bottom” href=”https://www.yesentertainment.co.uk/acts/category/wedding-entertainment-packages/”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
